I think of my manuscript assessment service as a ‘light’ version of my developmental edits. I cover the same areas, but I only do one read-through of the manuscript. It takes the form of a report only – no in-manuscript comments – and is shorter than a dev edit report at around 2 to 4 pages. I focus on conveying my first impressions and identifying key areas for improvement.
I charge £300 for this service for an average-length book of 50,000 to 100,000 words.
